LIZ PHAIR CD REVIEW . . .

Liz Phair's follow-up CD to her 1993 debut CD, "Exile in Guyville", is really good. The CD is self-titled, and will be released later this month.

I received the CD a few weeks ago, and I wasn't too keen on listening to it. However, after hearing her on the radio, and her song "Extraordinary" on the hit TV show "Charmed", I decided to take a listen. She's got a good vibe going on with her music, and she has a very good voice.

Her first single off the CD, "Why Can't I", sounds a lot like a song Avril Lavigne would sing. That's not a surprise, since Liz Phair worked on many of the songs on the album with the Matrix, the same team that worked with Avril on Avril's debut CD. However, on another song, "Rock Me", Liz sounds a lot like Madonna, so she has a wide range of vocal styles.

I highly recommend that you head out to a local store and pick up the CD, when it's released on June 24th. A lot of the songs have good beats, so expect to be nodding your head along, when you listen to the CD.
