SEV INTERVIEW . . .

You may recognize Sev from the Pepsi BLUE commercials. They're all very nice and down to earth. Not to mention they put on a GREAT show! Make sure you check them out at their official site, www.24Sev.com!

When: February 28th, 2003
Where: I ran into Max and Chris outside the venue, and talked with them, and they allowed me to interview them. This interview took place inside of the House Of Blues.
Thanks To: Max and Chris of Sev!

For the new fans reading this, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
Max: I'm Max, the guitarist.
Chris: I'm Chris. I play bass.

How did you guys get together as a band?
Max: I started the band by just doing a couple tracks and gave them to our bassist at the time, Will. He knew our drummer, Dennis, and we were jamming on these songs. We found two singers and other projects. We just came together, and found that this is the best thing that we were doing for ourselves at the time, so we all went ahead and made a full force effort of it.
Chris: About a year and a half later, I joined the band after being in the band, Primer 55, for awhile, and that's it.

How long have you guys been together as a full group?
Max: 6 years, going on 7.
Chris: Yeah.

What type of music do you guys play?
Max: It's a cross between the rap/rock genre, like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Beastie Boys, but it's more of a positive vibe than a negative vibe. It's fun music. It's not about being depressed or upset. It's about having fun and letting your hair down and having a good time.

What can fans experience at your shows?
Max: Other than nudity? [laughs] They can find having a good experience, positive, party vibe.
Chris: Yeah, the energy is really high at our shows. You really can't stand still, while you watch us, because we are not still for even one second. We get into the crowd, like Max jumps into the crowd while playing and our singers jump into the crowd. We just go crazy basically.
Max: And have a good time while doing it.

Now you guys are currently on tour with Nick Carter. How's that going?
Max: Very well. We've only played two shows. Tonight is our third show. And, so far, the response has been amazing, considering that everyone says, "Oh, why do you guys want to tour with Nick Carter?" Let me tell you, Nick Carter fans are all about us.
Chris: Nick Carter is a really cool guy, and he's a really nice person. He personally asked us on tour, because he enjoyed our set, when we played with him in Trenton, NJ at the Popfest.
Max: That's right.
Chris: We played with him and his little brother, Aaron. Good times.

Do you guys go out and party after the shows, or do you go to the hotel and just relax?
Max: Usually, after our set, we try to hang out in the crowd as much as possible. Not trying to steal their shows, while the other band is playing or anything, you know? We want to respect their space. We usually hang out, while everyone with the other bands is on. We're always trying to make friends and family with whoever is enjoying us.
Chris: We sign autographs for hours after the show. If we need to, we would sign everyone's piece of paper or picture or CD or t-shirt or...
Max: Or body part.
Chris: Or body part, and make sure we meet them all, and say "hi", and thank them for their support. Then, some nights we go and party, some nights we go and relax. It depends, I guess.

And last, but not least, if you could say anything to the fans reading this now, or your new fans, what would you say?
Max: Come and hang out with us, because we're a lot of fun.
Chris: Yeah, don't worry about rock star attitudes, because none of us have any. We want to hang out with people. Because we're lonely! [laughs]
