Alden Wynn Interview

For the new fans reading this, why dont you tell us a little about yourself?
My full name is Justin Alden Wynn, I’m from Roanoke, VA. I’m 24 years old and I own a window washing business. I’m currently working on my first full length CD, and I will be shopping it around to major record labels soon.

How long have you been performing?
I was 8 years old, when I did my first show.

Do you have any role models? If so, who are they, and why?
My Stepdad and my Mee-Maw (Grandmother). My father died when I was 7. My stepdad came into my life when I was 10 and gave me the guidance and love I needed from a father-figure. My Mee-Maw is my sunshine and brings a light to everybody she comes in contact with!

How nervous were you when you first auditioned for American Idol 2?
I’ve been performing so long that I don’t really get nervous anymore!

When you got cut, were you really upset, or did you see it as a new beginning for you?
I like that you called it a "new beginning", because that was exactly what I considered it! I’ve been on 45+ radio stations across the nation promoting my new CD and spreading the word about my website, www.aldenwynn.net (thanks to those reading this interview who had anything to do with the website)!

If Simon Cowell were reading this right now, what would you want to say to him?
He’s awesome. The persona he has on-screen is just an act. He’s actually quite down-to-earth and open off-camera.

What do you think is the best part of being a singer?
The best part is when you're on stage and you get a crowd that’s really hyped about being there!

Have you met anyone really famous, yet?
Do you mean besides Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, & Randy Jackson? I also met MiMi from the Drew Carrey Show and Harry Hamblin from L.A. Law, while I was in California.

Do you have a solo CD coming out any time soon?
The record labels will have to answer that question. I have a CD, but distribution of the CD is handled by the record labels. So, I’ll let you know when you can start requesting my songs!

What CD is currently in your CD player?
I was listening to Young MC, a rapper from back in the early 90’s, but I really dig Daniel Bedingfield’s new CD "Gotta Get Thru This".

And last, but not least, if you could say anything to the fans reading this now, what would you say?
You guys ROCK!! I love all of you! I need each and every one of you to request your favorite song of mine once we hit the radio. That’s right I said WE. We’ll do this thing together!
