BP recently had the pleasure to interview famous choreographer, D BLACK.  D has choreographed for artists, such as Aaron Carter, LFO, Natural, Lil' J, Triple Image, Smilez & Southstar, and MANY MORE.  He is currently working on writing his album, and choreographing for Orlando (Hip Hop) Dance teams!  If you want to know more about D Black, check out his official website at http://www.geocities.com/obieme and be sure to join his street team at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DBLACK.

Thanks to: Erikka for helping set up the interview, and of course, D Black for doing the interview.

For the new fans reading this, why don't you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is D Black, and I am a choreographer, teacher, and singer. I am working on writing my album.

How long have you been performing?
About 20 yrs. I started young.

Have you taken any dance or singing lessons?
Yes. I have trained in both, and still do.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Real, Caring, and Determined.

I understand you're a singer, dancer and choreographer. Which do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy them all, but they all give me satisfaction in different ways. I love to perform, whether it's dancing or singing for people, and I love to create and see the fruits of my labor.

Do you have a favorite style of dancing (ex.: ballet, jazz, hip-hop)?
I love hip-hop, because it's in my blood.

What is a normal day like for you?
Since I have my own studio, everything centers around getting that going. I am also working hard on up and coming artists.

You've worked with a lot of stars. Have you ever been star-struck?
Not yet. However, I still haven't met the people I look at as mentors or who I respect in the business.

If you could work with/choreograph any artist, who would it be, and why?
I would love to work with Michael Jackson and also B2K, because I know they would do my choreography the way I want to see it done.

What was it like to perform on the Jenny Jones show with Lil' J?
It was a high, because I was performing with and an amazing talent (Lil' J) and I was doing my choreography.

And last, but not least, if you could say anything to the fans reading this now, what would you say?
I wasn't aware I had people interested in me enough to be fans. I just hope that I can live up to their expectations. I want to at least make them smile and feel good with my voice, music, performance, or care in teaching. Share a bit of me, I guess. Stay with me.....D.

That's it!  I hope you enjoyed the interview.
