Lindsay Pagano Interview

Thanks to: Brittany, and of course, Lindsay Pagano!

For all the new fans, why don't you tell us a little about yourself?
Well, my name is Lindsay Pagano and I'm 16 years old. I'm a Warner Bros. recording artist and I'm currently working on my 2nd record.

When did you start singing?
Honestly, I don't remember a time where I wasn't singing. I think I learned to sing before I learned to talk. LOL.

Who are your musical inspirations?
My favorite singers are Micheal Jackson, Mariah Carey, Sebastion Bach and Steven Tyler.

You've been out of the limelight for awhile, now. What have you been up to?
Well, I took a few months off right after the Aaron Carter tour, and I was supposed to start working on my 2nd record then. I had some management problems and ended up switching management. I've been getting that settled and for the past month I've been working on the record. I definitely needed some time to grow up and figure out what I wanted to do with my career.

Could you tell us a little about the CD you're currently working on?
The new CD has a new sound that I don't think anyone has heard before. I'm not going to speak too much about it until it's finished, but it's different than my first record. I have full control over what I'm recording this time around and it's a lot of fun. I get to do things my way, now.

If a fan were to spend a day with you, what would it be like? What is your daily schedule?
Hmmmm, well, I usually wake up around 8:30, and I always go and get a white mocha from Starbucks. (I can't function without my Starbucks, lol) Then, I'll do about an hour and a half of schoolwork before I go to the studio. I'll probably be in the studio for about 4-5 hours. When I come home, I have dinner with my family and then go on-line/phone to talk to my friends. Then, I'll go to bed. That would usually be a weekday. The weekends are another story, lol.

If you could work together with any current artist, who would it be, and why?
I'd probably work with Eminem. I love his whole vibe.

How would you describe your music?
The first album was strictly pop. The next album is a bit more funky with hard hip-hop beats. It's a whole different sound. I'm excited about it.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?
I always do a vocal warm-up and say a prayer with my dancers.

What's your most memorable performance?
My first performance ever, which was in Boston at the Tsongas Arena. I had never performed for a big crowd like that before. My friend Chris (Trousdale) was just hugging me, telling me I'd be okay. I didn't believe him AT ALL! I was nervous throughout the first song, but I had the time of my life after that. I didn't want to leave the stage!

Have you changed much, since you were on tour with Aaron Carter and Dream Street last year?
I think I'm still the same person, but I've grown into my independence a little more. I'm older now and I can do things without mommy holding my hand all the time. I've gained my own perspective of the music business. I wouldn't say I've changed personally, but I have definitely matured and learned a lot in the past 2 years.

Your hit song, "Everything UR", was on the AOL commercial. How did you feel being referred to as the "AOL commercial girl"?
Since I've gotten signed to Warner Bros., everything that has happened to me has been something I've dreamed about since I was 3 years old. I never thought this would happen until I was a lot older, so at this point, I'm proud to be called the ANYTHING girl! LOL.

Since you're pretty young, do you find it harder for people to take you seriously as a singer?
Naturally, adults are always going to think that teenagers don't know anything, and trust me, they're getting the same in return, lol. I just want to show people that I'm not just some teeny bopper, "I can sing about 3 notes, but I sure look good" KID. Being in this business, it's hard to show people what you're all about without being cocky, but I've learned to deal with it.

What do you feel makes you different from other female singers out there?
That is a really hard question. I mean, we're all similar in some way, because we've all grown up listening to the same artists. I'm just so sick of new artists picking themselves apart trying to find something ''different'' about themselves. I'm not going to buy into it, because, quite frankly, I hate ''images''. I'm just going to be me, whatever that is, and do my music, because it makes me happy. What makes me different is really up to you guys.

In a few years, if you are no longer singing, what would you want to do? Would you still want to stay in some area of the music industry?
I might want to do a little bit of acting sometime, but I'm not really sure. I'm just concentrated on my music right now and whatever else happens, happens...

Do you have a message for your fans?
You guys rock!!!!!!!

That's it! Thanks for your time! :)
No problem!!!
