Mandy Ventrice Interview

>>

You may remember Mandy as being in the girl group Poetry in Motion. Well, now she's turning heads as a solo artist! She's got a great voice! Learn more at www.mandyventrice.com!

Why don't you tell all the new fans a little about yourself.
I'm a rock/pop singer, I write all my own songs...and I'm 17 years old.

How long have you been singing?
Literally, since I was two years old. I couldn't even structure sentences yet, but I was able to sing.

Have you ever had voice/singing lessons? If so, for how long?
Nope, never took a lesson in my life.

Is there any one specific person or gorup that influenced your decision to become a singer?
Mariah Carey...she is the whole reason I wanted to become a singer.

Can fans be expecting your solo CD coming out soon?
Well at the moment, it's not going to be out anytime in the near, near future...but hopefully in a year or two it will be.

Now you've written a lot, if not all your songs. What is your favorite song, and why?
Yes, I write all my own songs. At the moment, my favorite one is called, "In This Alone", it's an amazing ballad. And the song is just so sad...it's one of those songs, where you listen to it, and just want to cry. It's a tear jerker, and I love that. I love when songs (music/lyrics) make you feel something.

Where do you find your inspiration?
It depends on what I am feeling. I like to write about what I go through, because it's kind of like therapy...it really helps you to sort things out, once you write about it. My life, the people in it, and my emotions are definitely part of my inspiration for writing songs.

If you could do a remake of any song from the past or present, what would it be, and why?
There are so many...but a couple are Drift Away by Dobie Gray and [Take] Another Piece of my Heart by Janis Joplin. I love singing those songs, they're just classic, and phenomenal songs.

And last, but not least, if you coudl say one thing to your fans reading this right now, what would you say?
I love you.
