For all the new fans, why don't you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi everyone! I'm Myra and I love to sing and dance. I've been singing since the age of 5. I started with a great passion for the music, and my passion still keeps living on.
How old are you, and where are you from?
I'm 16. I'm from Santa Rosa C.A., but born in LA.
Is there a website or anything that fans can find out more about you?
http://www.geocities.com/myrateam. They post all the late and new news. I also post on there and my official Yahoo club, Miracles With Myra, at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/miracleswithmyra.
When did you start singing?
I started, when I was 5 years old.
Who are your musical inspirations?
My musical inspirations are Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and so many more. And, just like them, I would love to have uniqueness, "be me". Also, I LOVE Selena. She's the best!
You've been out of the limelight for a while now. What have you been up to?
Well, I've always told my parents that, even as an artist, everyone should get an education. I also always wanted to do new things, see new faces, and I hadn't had the opportunity to go to high school. It's very exciting for me.
If you could work together with any current artist, who would it be, and why?
I would work with Musiq Soul Child (Sunny), because he is so full of ideas. I don't even know him, but I can feel it, when he sings. He's got so much more to give, and I would love to help.
Do you write your own songs? If not, who does? If you do, where do you draw your inspiration from?
Well, I just started to write my own music. I get inspired in my room, and even one time in the bathroom, just because I need a quiet place. At the time it was the only quiet place in my house, where with so many brothers and sisters, it can get a little loud.
How would you describe your music?
My music has a little bit of edge and it should pull you in. It will have a Rock, Pop, R&B, Latin flavor to it. Lots of things coming your way.
Did your song "Miracles Happen" have any special meaning to you?
All my songs have a special meaning to me. "Miracles Happen" was a special one. It's always good to know deep down in your heart, that it can happen and all you have to do is work hard at it. You have to know that you can be whatever you want to be. If you work hard at it, you'll be where you want to be, as "Nas" says it.
What do you feel makes you any different from other female singers out there?
Well, I know that we all have that same passion towards it or else we wouldn't do it, because, let me tell you it's really hard. But, I would say that I always try to deliver a positive message and a meaning of life, an incredible one. So, after they come out of my concert they'll know know where they want to go, because that can take some time to find out, but know who they want to be.
In a few years, if you are no longer singing, what would you want to do? Would you still want to stay in some area of the music industry?
Actually, I would want to be an astronaut, or a psychologist, but I couldn't see myself without music. I'm all about music and making people happy.
Do you have a message for your fans?
I want to say, "Keep your head up. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do it." Remember anything is possible. I've learned that myself. If you go for it and fall down a couple of times, don't worry. Get yourself back up and remember that you have to look up, not down. All it takes is for you to do it, there is no try, you're going to do it. Be sure of who you are, and most importantly, when you get there, don't you change. You just thank God for everything you have, and everything you still have to give to others. Love you, Myra!
