Kiddieland Encounter - 09/01/01

We (me, my sister, my friend, and my dad) left our house at 12:45pm, and didn’t arrive at Kiddieland until 1:45pm. We got out of the car and from the parking lot we saw Claudia, the group’s chorographer, taking pictures of fans! I was sooo excited, I started flipping out. We got inside and went straight to the line by the gate, where they were going to let us into the concert area. The line wasn’t that long, so we decided to go on this little roller coaster thing. It was sooo funny! (and fun) Then we came back to the gate at around 2:15pm and waited until 3:00pm when they were putting wristbands on us and letting us in. I hurried to someone giving the wristbands out, and Brian gave me one. He told me I had a skinny wrist (ha ha) I said Thank You and he started talking about how I was the first one to say that ALL day. LOL. After we all got our wristbands on, we (except my dad who sat on the bleachers) literally ran to the stage. We got in the 2nd/3rd row we couldn’t tell. Claudia came out and she was signing everybody’s Kiddieland ticket thingys. I screamed We love you, Claudia!!! really loudly, and she laughed and looked at me like I was nuts. She said to the whole crowd, it’s always the innocent-looking ones! and imitated me! Ha! Thanks Claudia! J/K! Then the G-man from Radio Disney came. (My dad got a kick out of him he was sitting in the little bleacher things off to the side). The G-man psyched us up, and taught us some weird dances. We were all sweaty at 4:00pm, and we were wating desperately for DS to arrive. Me, Lauren (sis) and Michelle (friend) decided it would be funny if we all screamed and pointed to an innocent van, like DS was there, and see what the rest of the crowd would do. Sure enough they started going nuts. It was so funny. Then finally a big white fan came and drove behind the stage. The back of the stage was a little screen thing, and you could see the shadows of the people in back of it. So we all saw Chris’s head (with his spiky hair) and all the fans started going crazy! Then we saw Jesse’s head. The G-man came out on stage and talked for some wasteful minutes and we saw Chris’s arm! They came out on stage, adjusted their mikes, and started singing Let’s Get Funky Tonite. After that they sang Hooked On You, Gotta Get the Girl, Sugar Rush, This Time, I Say Yeah, and Feel the Rain (Which they change a BIG surprise to the fans singing along with them including us ha ha) After they finished with those songs they got off stage and the G-man came back on and said it was over (yeah riiiiight) Then he asked us if we wanted them to come back and sing It Happens Everytime. We all screamed and of course they came back on and sang. Then they took a 15 min. break and were going to come back on the stage to do a signing. (Which was REALLY sweet of them!) The concert people were playing Dream Street’s CD in the back round. They came out on stage at Jennifer Goodbye and we didn’t get to them until Gotta Get the Girl First it was Chris, he was all nice and said Wassup, signed our stuff, and asked us our names and all that good stuff. (He also saved my poster from the wind ha) Then Frankie, he smiled, asked our ages, and signed. Then Greg, he talked a lot, and signed our stuff, and I made a fool out of myself. (he asked me where I lived and I said I live with my sister lol!) Next was Jesse. Lauren was before me and he asked her, her name and how to spell it and age and stuff. Then I come, and he didn’t say anything to me. (Ohhh well.) After Jesse, was Matt. He smiled and signed our stuff (he is really cute hehe) We got up-close pictures of them all. We got off the stage and we were wating for Matt to sign Michelle’s poster. After Michelle was walking down from the steps Matt stared at us for at least 10 seconds I swear! This lady gave everyone a package of Salerno Cookies. Then we left to get dinner at Denny’s ha! They are really nice, and I hope I get to meet them again. Once is never enough!
