Chapter 6

Melany walked out her door and walked twards Central Park.She sat on a bench.Melany opened her favorite book,The Witching Hour by Ann Rice and started reading."Reading?"said a voice.Melany looked up and saw Chris."Oh,yea."said Melany."You look tired."said Melany as she saw his eyes were all red."Yea..."said Chris."You don't have to be nervous.Jenna called me and told me what happened."said Melany."I knew it wouldn't last.I wanted it to,but I have no time for a girl.I mean I have dance,singing,and school."said Chris."I understand."said Melany."Ur really nice to talk to."said Chris."Thanks."said Melany."I'm sorry."said Melany."Oh,don't be."said Chris.Melany smiled at him and wished she never had.Chris leaned closer to Melany and kissed her.She knew what she was doing was wrong,but he is so hard not to kiss.Melany pulled away."Um...maybe I should go."said Chris as he walked away.Melany cried after Chris left.She knew Jesse would forgive her about talking to Chris,but he'd probably never forgive her for kissing him.Melany took her stuff and went home to go to sleep.

Chris snuck inside their hotel room trying not to wake anyone.He saw Greg sitting at the table with his head laying on his history book.Greg was fast asleep.Chris couldn't help,but laugh.Jesse walked in the kitchen where Chris was standing."Should we wake him?"said Jesse with a grin.Chris felt guilty not telling Jesse.He's scared he's going to lose his bestfriend.

"Melany...sweetie."said Melany's mom."Get up."she said.Melany rolled over."Mom...no.It's Saturday..."said Melany."I know that...it's 12:30 in the afternoon."said her mom with a laugh.Melany grinned."ok."she said.Melany went into her bathroom."I feel like crap."said Melany as she put her hair into a bun.She grabbed a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt.She smeared lipgloss on her lips and went downstairs."Mom,where are my sneakers?"said Melany."Check under the couch."said her mom."Thanks."said Melany."Found 'em."she said.Melany's phone rang."hello?"said Melany.

Jesse:Hey
Melany felt her stomache tighten...
Melany:Oh,hi Jess.
Jesse:You don't sound too happy.
Melany:I'm just tired.
Jesse:Oh,me too.
Melany:Uh..um...
Jesse:Come to our hotel room.
Melany:Ok,I guess.
Jesse:See ya.

Melany hung up the phone and felt terrible.She didn't want to hide anything from Jesse.They always say that if you have no secrets in your relationship it will be healthy.Melany shook her head and could feel the tears swelling.She closed her eyes to hold them back.She rubbed her eyes and went out the door.

"Who was that?"said Chris."Melany."said Jesse."Oh."said Chris."Hey,you think you could like...go?I mean the other guys went out..."said Jesse."Sure why not."said Chris as he gabbed his sunglasses and went outside.The doorbell rang.Jesse opened it."Hi."said Melany with a weak smile.He let her in."Here's your jacket."said Melany as she handed it to him."Thanks."said Jesse.He sat on the couch and patted the seat beside him.Melany sat down."Jesse..."said Melany.She felt terrible and she didn't want to know what would happen."I went to the park last night."said Melany."That's ok."said Jesse."I do it all the time."said Jesse."Chris was there."said Melany.Jesse payed more attention to what Melany was saying."I love you and you know that right?Jesse please tell me you love me."said Melany."I love you."said Jesse."I always will."said Jesse."I told him that it was ok that Jenna broke up with him...he..."said Melany."Tell,me."said Jesse."I'm scared."said Melany."It's ok."said Jesse."He leaned closer to me and we kissed."said Melany.Jesse looked shocked.He closed his eyes and starred back at Melany."How could you do that?"said Jesse as he stood up."How could you do that to me....when everything was going so well?"said Jesse.His voice got louder."Jesse please..."said Melany."No...you know what.I.....I can't trust you.Not now anyway."said Jesse."I'm sorry.I swear that kiss meant nothing to me."said Melany."I don't care.You should leave."said Jesse as he pointed to the door.Melany let another tear roll down her face.Jesse didn't want to hurt Melany,but he felt so angry and hurt inside he couldn't help it."I love you."said Melany as she walked away.Jesse sat down on the couch."How could she do that to me?How could my bestfriend ruin everything I have???"said Jesse.

Melany ran out of the hotel and sat on a sidewalk and cried until her eyes burned."Melany?"said Michele.Melany lifted her head up and rubbed her eyes."Hi..."mumbled Melany.Melany tried to smile."What's wrong?"said Michele."And why are you sitting on the sidewalk?"said Michele."I hurt Jesse,Michele....and I take it all back if I could."said Melany."What happened?"said Michele as she sat down beside Melany."I went for a walk in the park and Chris was there.I mean I had no idea he was going.Jenna called me earlier and told me she broke up with him.I felt really bad for him and I talked to him...before I knew it we were kissing.I told Jesse and now he hates me...."cried Melany.Michele looked just as shocked as Jesse did."I'm sorry."said Michele."It's ok...I'm here for you."said Michele.Melany smiled at Michele and gave her a hug."What are you doing here?"said Melany."Oh,I was shopping and I saw you over here crying."said Michele."Like my pants?"said Michele as she pulled a cute pair of black flared jeans.Melany shook her head yes."Well,I hope Jesse forgives you."said Michele as she stood up."Michele..."said Melany."Yea?"said Michele."Thanks,for being here for me."said Melany."What are bestfriends for?"said Michele.Melany smiled.

"I got a B+!I got a B+!!!!"screamed Greg as he came inside.Jesse walked outside of his room."On what?"said Jesse."My history test."said Greg."Heh...I didn't even see you study."said Jesse."I studied all night."said Greg."Oh,yea...."said Jesse.He remembered when he saw Greg passed out with his face in the book.He laughed."What?"said Greg."Nothing."said Jesse.Chris walked through the door."Hey,guys."said Chris as he sat down on the couch.Jesse felt so much anger twards Chris."I feel good.I mean I know Jenna broke up with me,but I feel great."said Chris."Oh,and why's that?"said Jesse."I dunno."said Chris."Maybe because you swapped spit with my girl."said Jesse as he went into his room and slammed the door.Greg had a blank face."Did I miss something?"said Matt as he opened the door.Greg shook his head."What's that all about?"said Greg.Matt sat down by Chris."I felt heartbroken when Jenna dumped me.....so I went for a walk in Central Park.It's turns out Melany was there.We talked and she was really comforting.Then we ended up kissing.She pulled away...and I don't blame her,but I felt something from that kiss."said Chris."Chris?"said Matt."You and Jesse are at it again."said Matt."I know...I know..."said Chris with a sigh.

"I lost the most important thing in my whole life.What could get worse?"said Melany.Melany rubbed her eyes."ring.....ring......ring...."went her phone.Melany answered."Melany?"said a voice.

Melany:Hello?
Chris:Hey
Melany:Chris...now definentally isn't the time.
Chris:Why?
Melany:I lost Jesse....and you can't imagine how much it hurts.
Chris:I'm sorry...
Melany:It's ok,you didn't mean to.
Chris:I wish I could help...
Chris:did that kiss mean anything?
Melany:I don't know...I don't know Chris.I am trying to figure that out.
Chris:I'll call you later.
Melany:Yea...ok,bye.

Chris hung up the phone."I can't believe you dude."said Matt."If you stole my girl you probably wouldn't be standing here right now."said Matt."I didn't steal Jesse's girl."said Chris.Matt gave him a face."Ok,maybe I did,but I didn't know it would happen."said Chris."Chris you've had a crush on her since Jesse brought her to the hotel."said Matt."I know."said Chris.Jesse walked in the door."Oh,hi Matt."said Jesse ignoring Chris.
